As part of its 2027–2029 fiscal strategy, the Ministry of Economy and Finance raised its 2026 growth forecast from 6.6% to 8.1%. Nominal GDP is expected to reach 2,183 trillion soums, or about $180 billion, by year-end. Growth was 7.7% in 2025 and 8.7% in the first quarter of 2026.

Drivers of growth

The upgrade reflects higher gold prices, more tourists, faster growth in services exports and the relative stability of the soum. The forecast for market services was raised to 16.6%; industry is expected to grow 8%, construction 12.4% and agriculture 5%.

Sector targets

This year the plan is to produce 510,000 passenger cars, generate 93.3 billion kWh of electricity, attract 16 million foreign visitors and earn $5 billion from tourism exports. Expected average inflation was lowered to 6.5%, and unemployment is estimated at around 4.5%.
